Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 4, 2026 · Last Updated: March 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

By accessing or using the VerifiedFast application programming interface (“API”), website, dashboard, documentation, or any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

You represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of a corporation, partnership, limited liability company, or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms, and “you” or “User” shall refer to that entity.

Accounts created by automated means, by users under 18, or by individuals who have previously been terminated from the Service are not permitted.

2. Description of Service

VerifiedFast provides a RESTful API that enables programmatic verification of professional licenses across the following regulated professions: lawyers, doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, architects, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, insurance agents, financial advisors, lobbyists, pilots, business entities, and healthcare facilities.

The Service aggregates publicly available information from federal, state, and local licensing authorities, regulatory boards, and other governmental databases. Verification results are returned in structured JSON format and may include license status, expiration dates, disciplinary history, and other publicly available data points.

Additionally, the Service provides an ID Verification feature via hosted verification links. API customers create a verification session and receive a unique URL. The person being verified opens the link and uploads a photo of their government-issued ID and a live selfie. The Service uses AI vision analysis to perform face matching between the ID photo and selfie and to extract identifying information from the ID document via optical character recognition (OCR). Each ID verification consumes three (3) API credits.

The Service does not constitute legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or any form of professional counsel. Verification results and ID verification outcomes are informational only and should not be used as the sole basis for hiring, credentialing, contracting, or any decision carrying legal or regulatory consequences without independent confirmation from the relevant licensing authority or additional identity verification measures.

3. Account Registration & API Keys

To use the Service, you must create an account and obtain API credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and to update such information as necessary. Each account is issued a single API key and a Bearer token for authentication purposes.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key, Bearer token, and account credentials. You must not share, publish, embed in client-side code, or otherwise expose your API credentials to unauthorized parties. Any activity occurring under your API key is your responsibility, whether or not authorized by you.

You must notify VerifiedFast immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or API key. VerifiedFast reserves the right to revoke or rotate API credentials at any time if a security compromise is suspected.

One API key is issued per account. Requests for additional keys require explicit written approval.

4. Permitted & Prohibited Use

You may use the Service solely for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms, including but not limited to: background verification, compliance workflows, credentialing automation, internal audits, and integration into proprietary business applications.

You agree that you will NOT:

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service beyond authorized API calls;
  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly display raw API response data without prior written consent from VerifiedFast;
  • Circumvent, bypass, or attempt to exceed rate limits, authentication controls, or usage quotas through any technical means, including but not limited to creating multiple accounts, rotating IP addresses, or forging request headers;
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable federal, state, or local law, including but not limited to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or applicable anti-discrimination laws;
  • Use the Service to stalk, harass, intimidate, or harm any individual;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code, algorithms, or data structures of the Service;
  • Introduce malicious code, viruses, or any harmful components through API requests;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when registering for or using the Service;
  • Use the Service as a consumer reporting agency or generate consumer reports as defined under the FCRA.

Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice, and VerifiedFast reserves the right to pursue any available legal remedies.

5. API Usage Limits & Fair Use

API usage is governed by a prepaid credit system. Each API call deducts credits from your account balance:

API CallCreditsCost
Verify / Lookup1$0.33
ID Verification3$0.99
SMS Verification10$3.30

Credits are purchased at $0.33 per credit with a minimum purchase of $100 ($100 = 303 credits). Credits do not expire.

API requests are rate-limited on a per-second and per-minute basis to ensure fair access for all users. Current rate limits are published in the API documentation and may be adjusted at VerifiedFast’s discretion with reasonable notice.

If your credit balance reaches zero, subsequent requests will return an HTTP 402 (Insufficient Credits) status code until you purchase additional credits. For high-volume needs, contact [email protected] to discuss an upgrade or Enterprise arrangement.

VerifiedFast reserves the right to throttle or temporarily suspend access to any account exhibiting usage patterns that degrade the performance or availability of the Service for other users.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including but not limited to its software, algorithms, API design, documentation, user interface, database architecture, aggregation methodologies, trademarks, service marks, and trade dress, is the exclusive property of VerifiedFast and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

You retain all rights to data you submit to the Service (e.g., query parameters, account information). VerifiedFast does not claim ownership of your data. However, you grant VerifiedFast a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

Verification results returned by the API are derived from publicly available records and may be used by you in accordance with these Terms. You may not, however, represent VerifiedFast’s compiled datasets, enrichment logic, or aggregated data as your own proprietary data.

7. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

VerifiedFast sources verification data from publicly accessible government registries, regulatory boards, and licensing authorities. While VerifiedFast endeavors to maintain accurate and current information, the Service relies on third-party data sources over which VerifiedFast has no control.

Verification results are cached for up to ninety (90) days to optimize performance and reduce latency. Cached results may not reflect the most recent status of a license or credential.

VerifiedFast makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any verification result. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Data may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information due to delays in updates by source registries;
  • Verification results should not be the sole basis for any decision with legal, regulatory, medical, financial, or employment implications;
  • You are responsible for independently verifying information with the relevant licensing authority before making decisions that may affect the rights or interests of any individual or entity;
  • VerifiedFast is not liable for any damages arising from reliance on verification results.

8. ID Verification & Image Data

The ID Verification feature allows API customers to create hosted verification sessions in which end-users upload images of government-issued identification documents and selfie photographs. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • No image storage. Uploaded images are processed in memory for AI analysis and are immediately discarded after processing. VerifiedFast does not store, retain, or archive any uploaded photographs or identity document images. Only SHA-256 cryptographic hashes of the images are retained for audit and fraud prevention purposes.
  • AI-powered analysis. Images are analyzed using OpenAI’s vision model for face matching and OCR extraction. Images are transmitted to OpenAI’s API over encrypted channels for processing. OpenAI’s data handling is governed by their API data usage policies, which provide that API inputs are not used for model training.
  • Session expiration. Verification sessions expire automatically after the configured duration (default 24 hours, maximum 72 hours). Expired sessions cannot be used and no images can be uploaded to them.
  • Credit consumption. Each ID verification session consumes three (3) credits from your account balance upon successful image processing. Credits are not deducted for expired, cancelled, or failed sessions where no image processing occurred.
  • Accuracy disclaimer. AI-based face matching and OCR extraction are probabilistic and may produce errors. A face match confidence score is provided with each result. You agree that ID verification results should not be the sole basis for identity authentication decisions with legal, financial, or regulatory consequences.
  • End-user consent. You are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from end-users before directing them to a hosted verification link. You must inform end-users that their ID photograph and selfie will be analyzed by AI for identity verification purposes and that images are not permanently stored.
  • Biometric data compliance. Certain jurisdictions (including Illinois, Texas, Washington, and others) have enacted biometric privacy laws. You are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable biometric data laws, including obtaining any required consent from end-users, in connection with your use of the ID Verification feature.

8a. SMS Phone Verification

The SMS Phone Verification feature allows API customers to send one-time verification codes (OTPs) to US phone numbers via SMS for the purpose of phone number verification. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • TCPA compliance. You are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from end-users before initiating SMS verification. You must comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing SMS communications. VerifiedFast sends messages on your behalf and you warrant that each recipient has consented to receive SMS messages.
  • Message content. SMS messages sent by VerifiedFast contain only the verification code and basic instructions. Messages are sent from (888) 374-3977. You may not use the SMS verification feature for marketing, promotional, or any purpose other than phone number verification.
  • Phone number handling. Phone numbers are stored in E.164 format and are masked in all API responses (e.g., +1***4567). Phone numbers are retained only for rate-limiting and session management purposes.
  • Code security. Verification codes are SHA-256 hashed before storage and are never stored or transmitted in plaintext after initial SMS delivery. Sessions expire automatically after the configured duration (default 10 minutes, maximum 30 minutes).
  • Rate limiting. The Service enforces rate limits of 10 SMS messages per phone number per hour, 5 verification attempts per session, and 3 code resends per session. These limits are designed to prevent abuse and may not be circumvented.
  • Credit consumption. Each successful SMS phone verification consumes ten (10) credits from your account balance. Credits are not deducted for sending codes, failed verification attempts, expired sessions, or cancelled sessions.
  • US numbers only. The SMS verification feature currently supports US phone numbers only (10-digit or 11-digit with country code 1). International phone numbers are not supported.

9. Payment & Billing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). By purchasing credits, you authorize VerifiedFast and Stripe to charge your designated payment method for the one-time credit purchase amount.

Credits are purchased on an a la carte basis with a minimum purchase of $100. Credits are added to your account balance immediately upon successful payment and do not expire. You may purchase additional credits at any time through the dashboard.

VerifiedFast reserves the right to modify credit pricing with thirty (30) days’ advance notice. If you do not agree to a price change, your existing credit balance remains valid and usable at the original terms.

Refund Policy: All fees are non-refundable once credits have been consumed. If you have not used any credits from a purchase, you may request a refund within seven (7) days of the charge. VerifiedFast reserves sole discretion in determining refund eligibility.

You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and levies imposed by relevant taxing authorities in connection with your use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

VerifiedFast, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if VerifiedFast has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall VerifiedFast’s total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service exceed the total fees actually paid by you to VerifiedFast during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, VerifiedFast’s liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VerifiedFast, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • Any claim by a third party arising from your use of verification data obtained through the Service;
  • Your failure to maintain the security of your API credentials.

VerifiedFast reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which event you agree to cooperate with VerifiedFast in asserting any available defenses.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at verified.fast/privacy. The Privacy Policy describes how VerifiedFast collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information and API usage data.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy, these Terms shall control with respect to matters of service usage, and the Privacy Policy shall control with respect to data handling and privacy practices.

13. Termination

VerifiedFast may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms, including prohibited use restrictions;
  • Your account is associated with fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity;
  • You fail to pay any fees owed within fifteen (15) days of the due date;
  • VerifiedFast is required to do so by law, regulation, or court order;
  • Continued provision of the Service to you would pose a security risk to VerifiedFast or other users.

You may cancel your account and terminate these Terms at any time through the dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. Upon termination:

  • Your API key and Bearer token will be immediately revoked;
  • Any remaining credits on your account are forfeited upon cancellation;
  • VerifiedFast may delete your account data after thirty (30) days, subject to the Privacy Policy;
  • Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Data Accuracy Disclaimer), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law) shall survive termination.

14. Modifications to Terms

VerifiedFast reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice of material changes via the email address associated with your account. Non-material changes (e.g., typographical corrections, formatting) may be made without prior notice.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms will be revised to reflect the effective date of the most recent changes.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service and cancel your account before the changes take effect.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware. You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts and waive any objection based on forum non conveniens.

Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact VerifiedFast at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
